Citizens Committee for New York City is hosting a grant application workshop IN OUR BOROUGH. It will afford Bronx residents an opportunity to learn more about our New Yorkers for Better Neighborhoods (NYBN) Award. Grants of $500 to $3,000 are now available to volunteer-led groups to work on projects that bring neighbors together and that have a positive impact on the community. Recent awards have enabled neighbors to come together to make healthy food available in their communities, transform empty lots into community gardens, organize tenants to advocate effectively for better housing conditions, and start school recycling programs. The upcoming grant deadline is January 31, 2012.
Location: The Bronx Library Center – 310 East Kingsbridge Road
Date and Time: Thursday, January 12, 6pm-7:30PM (Room C21)
