Dear FIPNA members,
The Community Board 8 Land Use committee will consider the following development plans:
ON CANNON PLACE:
Jackson Development Group is proposing a city-funded, 93-unit, 7-story building on the Cannon Place side of the rocky through lots just south of 238th (last year’s “Urban Pathways” lot and the small lot just north of it). The building they propose will be a looming, 100,000+ square ft behemoth plus a 120-car parking garage.
- Is it safe to build on this site?
- Will a 7-story building overwhelm that block?
ON GILES PLACE:
The owners of 3333 Giles have resubmitted their application to build a 5-story, 63-unit building with 44 parking spots on a lot zoned for detached one- or two-family homes. FIPNA has been fighting this unscrupulous developer for 7 years.
- This developer is arguing that he should be allowed to build under the older zoning, despite the fact that his permit was declared invalid, he didn’t finish his foundation, and he built his building too close to the curb.
COME OUT, hear what they have planned, and state your opinion.
