You heard correct, you can now apply for your dog’s license online at the nyc.gov website, more specifically you can go to https://a816-health21ssl.nyc.gov/DogLicense/Login.do.
It is about time that they got around to getting this online and it is so easy to use, however what is up with the city charging a “nominal service fee” for paying online with your credit card? I never could understand this, they charge these fees if you pay your water bill online, parking tickets, etc. Doesn’t it save the city money by me paying online? They don’t need someone to collect the snail mail, open the envelope, find the check, enter it in the computer, stamp the back of the check and walk to the bank to deposit it. Am I missing something here?
Well at least you can now make your Fido legal right from the comfort of your own home.
