Day 87 – There was not much going on today because it was raining all day, it wouldn’t let up for a minute. The striking members are still strong and have been holding the line through rain, snow and freezing cold. If you think they are giving up and moving on, you are sorely mistaken.
My post yesterday has generated a lot of comments, some of which were quite amusing if it weren’t for the fact that they could possibly be true.
One person stated that the reason Helen is bunkered down inside the home is:
because they are protecting Helen’s many, many bags of gold. What once was known as “FORT INDEPENDENCE” has been turned into Sieger’s very own “FORT KNOX”. She has been bunkered down for 85 days in her “FORT KNOX” guarding all her many envelopes filled with CASH!! She has been sitting, eating, drinking and sleeping atop the massive wealth she has acquired, in fear that it will all be taken away from her!!!
This picture pretty much sums it up…
Then another posted that Helen has create a concentration camp:
and for the record, many of us feel that the only people *NOT* involved in this strike that walks into that concentration camp that Sieger has bunkered down in are the families and residents.
If you look at all the pictures we have of this strike, you can form your own opinion about that comment, I have found three below that stood out in my mind.
If you are a neighbor of Helen’s here on Cannon and Giles Places, you will never forget what she has done to the neighborhood since purchasing the nursing home from the previous owners.
- Dug up the whole front of the nursing home for parking and destroyed the beauty of the place
- Purchased a house adjacent to the nursing home on Giles Place, demolished it during the Christmas holiday season. Then left a big hole for several years until the city came and filled it in.
- Purchased a house on Giles Place to tear down and make a parking lot, makes perfect sense build a parking lot between two other existing private homes on a street that has nothing but private homes. Since she couldn’t do this (by law) she has left the house empty and abandoned for many years.
This is only part of what she has done to our neighborhood, here is some reading for you to see what others have to say about Helen:

( Excerpt from the web page )
As the New York Post reported:
“A respected Manhattan lawyer finds himself in a legal tangle after claiming a women involved in a bizarre and notorious divorce case tried to bride him.
Tom Shanahan made the bombshell allegations about Helen Sieger in a letter to state Supreme Court Justice Nicholas Figueroa, who’s presiding over her suit against the Union of Orthodox Rabbis, court records show.
Figueroa wasn’t exactly grateful: He reported the lawyer to the Disciplinary Committee for sending him ‘clearly prejudicial” information about Sieger.
It’s outrageous, said Shanahan…, I think I did the absolute right thing.”
Mr. Shanahan continues to stand by his statement and has a witness to the events. He is still subject to discipline for his actions. The individual was never referred to the any authority based upon Mr. Shanahan’s complaint and allegations.
Also it seems that there needs to be higher standards set for nursing homes and or the governing agencies that watch them, have a look at a story about another nursing home where a family used hidden cameras to prove neglect was happening and that reports were falsified.

I just hope for the residents of KHRCC that everything is being done properly inside and that they are being cared for in the manner in which they should be. After all this is supposed to be the golden years of some of these residents lives, don’t we owe it to them to treat them like gold? These are the same people that raised us so that we could grow up and enjoy life, this could be our Grandparents or Parents inside this nursing home.
Till tomorrow, STAND STRONG!
