Get On The Do Not Call List

Do Not Call LogoJoin the millions of other Americans who have put their names on the “do not call list”. It’s real easy and it’s still not too late to join.

Just call 888-382-1222 or go to www.donotcall.gov it only takes a minute.

Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm.

It won’t stop all unsolicited calls, because the law exempts political organizations, nonprofits, survey takers and companies that you have a relationship with.

But this helpful government service is not free of scamers. The FTC has received numerous complaints about shady individuals offering to help consumers register, for a fee, or asking to confirm a registration in order to gain access to personal information.

Make sure you are aware that the government does not allow private companies or third parties to register anyone else on the “do not call” list.
