Day 84 – After the shock of hearing yesterday’s news about Audrey passing away so suddenly the strike line was in a very somber mood. All the members gathered in prayer and song and then they were delivered a speech by Isaac.
We thought it would be appropriate for the neighborhood association to send flowers to the strike line in remembrance of our dear friend Audrey.
The striking members decided to add a picture of Audrey to the wreath of flowers which by the way were made in the union colors.
Once again I would like to say that Audrey will be greatly missed and will be remembered for quite some time to come.
In other news today the nursing home is known to park too many cars in their front parking lot, usually overlapping the building line and blocking the sidewalk. Today a car that was parked over the building line was hit by a delivery truck. It has always been a bad idea to stick so many cars in the front lot and today just proves why.
If Helen had left the lot the way it was when she purchased the nursing home we all would be better for it, the lot used to be smaller with a beautiful patch of grass and bushes with a white birch tree and a flag pole. Where is the flag now anyway?
Speaking of Helen, the members have made a life size figure of Helen and had it on display today, see if you think it resembles her.
We are on day 84 and still there are plenty of scabs to go around. Funny how some cover their faces when a picture is snapped, why?
The shift change today was not such a somber mood as the members are fed up, 84 days and now one of their own dear friends dying, it is just not right! Enough is enough already, when is someone going to end this?
Helen are you there? Why don’t you be the better person and do the right thing?
Till tomorrow, STAND STRONG!
