Day 65 – Seems like the police are at it again, not only are they now blocking our driveways, they are parking right on the sidewalk in front of our driveways. What is the reason for this?
Speaking of parking on the sidewalk, the nursing home now thinks it is ok to use the sidewalk in front of their building for parking. I guess since there is no street parking they can use the sidewalk? No violations were issued for any of these cars on the sidewalk.
I wrote the other day about a CNA worker (Dorkal Thenzin) that died after going to the hospital, well it seems that there is some interest in her death. I have been contacted by other news papers as well as others looking to find more definitive answers. If anyone has more information on this woman please contact us.
This afternoon Melissa Russo from Channel 4 News was here to get the whole story. She will be back next week because she could not get any comments from Helen Sieger due to the Passover holiday, I do hope Helen will be available for an interview after the holiday. We will let you know when the show is going to air once we get that information.
Today is day 65 of this strike, DAY 65… That says a lot about the unity that these workers have. Yes I know they are collecting unemployment now, but remember they had gone 40 days without it. Not ONE union member that went on strike 65 days ago has changed their mind and crossed the picket line to go back to work. That is a powerful statement! Not ONE member out of the 220~ members on the strike line have retreated back to work.
Everyone is gearing up for the rally on May 3rd, this rally will be huge as thousands of SEIU members are expected to attend. We will have more information for the neighborhood shortly, please check back here for the latest information. The rally is scheduled to start at 11am, so if you need to get out that day plan on doing so before that time.
Till tomorrow, STAND STRONG!
