Strike Update Day 46 & 47 – (4/5/2008 & 4/6/2008)

Day 46 & 47 – I decided to take a little break this weekend and make one post for both days. I realize that my friends on the strike line do not get the pleasure of taking a break on the weekend and to this I salute them.

The Candle Light Vigil was an overwhelming success, we have received many compliments and I do want to take my hat off to the union for pulling together and supporting us as much as we were there supporting them.

The strike line was still strong over the weekend and on Sunday we got to enjoy the beautiful singing of songs again.

It appears that even more neighbors are showing support. As I was driving around the neighborhood the last couple of days I have been seeing more and more signs supporting the workers.

Since Passover is only 2 weeks away, we thought it would be a nice gesture to send Helen Sieger a Passover card from the community. Here you can see the card we sent, I am sure you will agree it is a very beautiful card.

It still appears that the NYPD have not put up any signs about no parking in the strike zone. There have been cars parked all weekend and not one of them have received a ticket.

Till tomorrow, STAND STRONG!

OH, WELL IT’S TIME TO TAKE BACK YOUR STREET AND YOUR PARKING SPACES..SINCE EVERYONE {SCABS] CONTINUALLY FLOUTS, THE LAW, HOWEVER, SINCE THERE ARE NO SIGNS, THEN YOU CAN PARK AS WELL. WITH ALL THE VIDEOTAPING GOING ON AND PICTURE TAKING GOING ON, IF ANYONE SHOULD GET A TICKET, THE PROOF IS READILY AVAILABLE THAT THERE ARE NO SIGNS POSTED,NOR HAVE THERE EVER BEEN ANY SIGNS POSTED,JUST TAKE A QUICK RUN THROUGH OF THE PHOTOS ON THIS BLOG……..NO SIGNS…….

Just a quick note, the NYPD did put up one sign the day before the strike “No Parking Wednesday” that was the ONLY sign they have every posted.
