Day 35 – I can’t believe it is day 35 and Helen has not even offered any kind of negotiation. What is wrong with you Helen, these people have worked with you for all these years, some have worked in the nursing home even before you were the owner. Oh how I wish Mr. & Mrs. Boritzer were still here, this would not be happening right now. Helen, you are not being fair, you did not do all this work to make the profits that you have gained. You gained these profits off the sweat of the people you currently have outside your building. You should do the right thing and negotiate a fair contract, pay the health care benefits and let your workers get back to work.
The workers are still standing strong and are not going to be going anywhere. They are here to stay and will stay and fight for their jobs. There is no “scab” that will prosper.
It is a beautiful day today! The generators are finally gone!!! For the last 35 nights we have had to suffer through the night listening to the noise, seeing the light and smelling the fumes that these generators were emitting. Thank God they are finally history. It is so fitting to see who had to push them to the truck for their departure, the management of the nursing home had to wish the generators a fond farewell…
Not only did they wish them farewell but the community and union members did as well. Good Bye!
Back to yesterdays post about the nursing home video taping the union members even though they were ordered not too, well today their security decided to video tape me taking pictures of the generators and the union members. So now that I have them taking video of the union members who is going to enforce the NLRB ruling?
Tonight is a very quiet night, even the new lights that the nursing home have installed are finally aimed properly and are not reflecting on the community. I still don’t know why it is so important to have so much light? Can you really be that scared of the dark Helen?
Till tomorrow, STAND STRONG!
