Day 28 – The day started out great when I found out that a story had hit the NY Daily News about the strike and the issue with the generators the nursing home has put outside. Have a look here to read the whole article. This couldn’t have come at a better time as the nursing home has already started to take apart these generators. If you have been following along they have tried twice already to keep these generators running and both times failed miserably. The DEP finally stepped in and said enough is enough and gave the nursing home 48 hours to find an alternative.
The nursing home started to hard-wire some fixtures to their building as you can see here:
I hope he has health care in case he falls out that window. Is he a licensed electrician? Is that legal to stick an orange cord through an open window? What about the residents inside, won’t they be cold with those open windows?
I can’t believe that the nursing home installed more lights on the front of the building today. Last night they had what I thought were enough, but today they installed several more and seemed to have aimed them right at Cannon Heights (the building across the way). Are they really trying to aggravate the buildings tenants? The building’s lawyer already sent a letter to the nursing home about the generator lights. What the heck is wrong with the nursing home?
Notice the mirror tint on the front windows? The lights must have been too bright for them.
In other news today, there still appears to be selective parking going on as people are allowed to park here without any issues, I wonder if I can park there tomorrow?
As for the generators, if you remember I told you the FDNY made the nursing home remove the wood casing that they had built around the generators to try and abate the noise. Well here you can see just how much of a fire hazard it really was! They just got very lucky that nothing major happened.
Lastly, the members are still here! They are not going anywhere!
Till tomorrow, STAND STRONG!
