Day 22 and what a day it was. To start the day off there was a show of force by the police that could only be matched to a hostage situation. We had more police on Cannon than I even thought the 50th had in the whole precinct. Not only on the ground but we had a helicopter flying over head.

Why all this force you ask? There was an alleged altercation between a union member and a temporary worker. I say alleged because no one was arrested and nothing was carried out by the police. This is just another example of the amount of harassment that the strikers are facing from the police. This harassment has not only been directed at the strikers but towards the residents of this community as well. We are constantly blocked in our driveways by police vehicles, we have to deal with the fumes from their vehicles running 24 hours a day.
Another issue we are facing now is that it appears to be ok to park on the street as long as the police selectively allow it. We as residents have been told there is no parking on the street but as you can see here there are cars allowed to park for extended length. When I asked the community affairs officer he told me he didn’t know who’s car it was, funny how ten minutes later he was engaged in a conversation with the owner of the car which he said he didn’t know who’s car it was.
Till tomorrow, STAND STRONG!
