Because of the strike that is going on at the nursing home the police department have removed all the parking from the street for all of us. This is a very bad situation as parking is hard enough in the neighborhood. I spoke to the police department and was told that the parking was removed due to the strike and would stay that way until the strike is resolved.
I really don’t think that it is necessary to remove the parking so I decided to file a complaint with the D.O.T. (Department of Transportation) in regards to the parking being removed. I filed an online complaint form right on the NYC.gov website on February 26.
Today March 5 eight days later I received this response from them:
We received your email message concerning the parking conditions on Cannon Place in the Bronx.
Bronx Borough Commissioner Constance Moran will work with the appropriate operational group to ensure that this matter is addressed properly.
Borough Commissioner Constance Moran will provide you with the results of our findings by mid April, 2008.
Thank you for contacting the Department of Transportation

Mid April! Are you kidding me? It is bad enough that it took 8 days to get a response now it is going to take over a month to do anything about it. It is unacceptable in this day and age to have an online complaint form that doesn’t get a response within a 24 hours period. Even a response of “we received your complaint and are working on it” would have been better than nothing for 8 days.
